Dear Patients,
We hope this letter this finds you and your family in good health. San Antonio has been through a lot over the last few months, and we are all looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines. While many things have changed, one thing remains the same: our commitment to safety for our patients and staff.
Infection control has always been a top priority for our profession and our practice. Our office will continue to follow infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the CDC, and OSHA. We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up to date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued to make sure that our infection control procedures are not only current and adhere to each agencies’ recommendations, but that we exceed their recommendations and your expectations.
Given the times we live in, you will see some changes when it’s time for your next appointment. We made these changes to help further protect our patients and our staff. Among these:
*We ask that you go to your patient portal prior to your appointment to update all necessary forms, including a new pre-appointment screening form as we have discontinued use of the iPads at this time. You will be asked the same screening questions again at the time of your appointment. All forms, including the medical history update, MUST be completed to honor your appointment for your safety. If you have not created a patient portal, please check your email history for a link that has been sent from our office. If you need to have the link re-sent, please contact us.
*We will have you contact the office when you arrive and politely ask you to wait in your vehicle to minimize the number of people in the office at any one time. You will receive a phone call or text when it is time for you to come directly to the treatment room. We will meet you at the office door to take your temperature prior to entering the office. Per updated CDC guidelines, we ask that you wear a facemask or cloth face covering to your appointment.
*We have hand sanitizer that we will ask you to use when you enter the office. We also ask that you bring a pen with you to appointments to sign any necessary documents.
*Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. We thank you ahead of time for your patience as this may mean that you are offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment.
There will also be several changes that you may not immediately notice but that will further enhance the safety and comfort of your visit.
*In-room medical grade filtration has been added to each treatment room to completely clean the air of allergens and airborne pathogens (including viruses) in each room every 10 minutes.
*In-treatment aerosol control technology has been added to further enhance current protocols during cleanings and treatment. We have implemented Dryshield, which is an isolation and retraction system that will aid in keeping the working environment clean by providing a continuous suction to help control and reduce aerosols.
We look forward to welcoming you into our practice once again and are happy to answer any questions you might have about the steps we take to keep you, and every patient, safe in our practice. We will be working diligently to reschedule appointments as quickly as we are able. Please do not hesitate to call the office with any concerns at (210) 599-9610.
Thank you for being a part of our practice family. We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to seeing you soon!
Sincerely,
Dr. Lindsey Schlepp and her AMAZING TEAM
